Elk City voters participated in the August 25, 2026 Oklahoma primary runoff as residents of Beckham County. The main county-level contest was the Republican runoff for Beckham County Commissioner District 3:

When the electricity is out, don’t panic.
Apparently, a portion of Elk City lost electricity, and then mass chaos ensued. Mainly at the primary school pickup lines. So I wanted to just drop this tidbit of knowledge and wisdom on you. That wisdom is if you want to get moving faster, then slow down. When you are all up in your thoughts about how you have to rescue your child because they may be hot. It is OK for Junior to be hot and sweaty. Yeah, it may be an inconvenience to have little sweat stains on the back of your Grand Wagoneer, but that is fine. Cutting in front of people because you gotta get to yo sweet baba angel isn’t helping the matter none. In fact, it is probably holding you back. You could have been where you were if you had joined the line where it ended.
Whose dogs are running loose
This is a good thing to know if you own a dog. You have to keep your dog under control. If they are jumping and nipping at kids or chasing farmers’ livestock, then don’t be surprised if someone dispenses a 9MM-sized pill into your beloved pupper. If they are running free, then it shows me that you don’t care for them all that much, and if they misbehave, they will be put down because they are a disruption and damaging.
This also goes for people in society. It is sad, but when you are harmful to society, you do have consequences. Yelling and screaming and trying to play the victim doesn’t help you. Being a productive member of society is the key. So control your dogs and control yourself, and life will be better all around.
