Sayre family loses home in early-morning fire; community fundraiser underway
In mid-August 2026, a Sayre family of eight lost their home and belongings in an early-morning house fire, prompting a community donation drive to help them rebuild.
The Mayor of Sayre said. “Clothes, shoes, personal items, stuff like that. Any help we can get to help this family out.”

OKLAHOMA ANIMAL CRUELTY LAW — 21 O.S. § 1685
Oklahoma law protects animals being held in captivity, including domestic animals and animals belonging to another person.
The statute applies to:
“any animal in subjugation or captivity, whether wild or tame, and whether belonging to the person or to another.”
The law prohibits depriving an animal in captivity of necessary food, drink, shelter, or veterinary care to prevent suffering, as well as permitting an animal to be subjected to cruelty.
A domestic cat confined inside a live trap is an animal being held in captivity.
THE “24-HOUR TRAP CHECK” RULE DOES NOT MEAN AN ANIMAL CAN BE LEFT IN DANGEROUS CONDITIONS FOR 24 HOURS.
Oklahoma wildlife trapping laws and regulations contain requirements concerning how frequently certain traps must be inspected. These inspection requirements do not provide an exemption from Oklahoma’s animal-cruelty laws.
They should not be interpreted as permission to leave a trapped domestic animal exposed to dangerous heat, without necessary water or shelter, or under other conditions that cause suffering simply because 24 hours have not yet passed.
During Oklahoma’s extreme summer heat, a cat confined in an exposed live trap can develop heat stress or heat stroke long before 24 hours has elapsed.
Anyone choosing to use a live trap is responsible for the welfare of an animal once it has been captured. A trapped animal must not be deprived of the water, shelter, veterinary care, or other necessities required to prevent suffering.
PLEASE TRAP RESPONSIBLY.
If you use live traps:
- Check them frequently, especially during hot weather.
- Keep traps protected from direct sun and dangerous weather conditions.
- Never allow a trapped animal to remain without necessary water or shelter when doing so could cause suffering.
- Remember that a cat entering your property may be someone’s owned and loved pet, not an unowned stray.
- If an animal appears distressed, overheated, injured, or ill, address the situation immediately and contact appropriate authorities or veterinary care when necessary.
Suspected animal cruelty or neglect can be documented with photographs, the date and time, weather conditions, the location and condition of the trap, and the condition of the animal, and reported to the appropriate local authorities.

The fact that trapping may otherwise be lawful does not eliminate the legal obligation to prevent unnecessary suffering of an animal held in captivity.
Manage your dogs
Another citizen has had enough of the bathroom habits of other people‘s canine companions, deciding the copper squat on his front porch. And if he catches the porch poop and pooch, he’s going Dispatch the dog desperately.
But in all seriousness, you do need to manage your dogs. You don’t just let your dog out to run rampant and do whatever they want. You put them out into the backyard or the front yard. That means you need to have a fence to put your dogs into. With water and shade. My opinion, it is highly irresponsible to just let your dog run loops, and if they are shot for harassing a farmers animals, then that is on the dog owner.
Promissory notes?
One person has asked the following,
Has anyone used bills as promissory notes? Im seeing so many things online about how these notes are as good as cash. Anyone ever succeeded with this?
The answer to this is no you cannot use a bill as a promissory note. The only promissory note you actually have is in the form of green bags, dollar bills, or otherwise known as legal tender. The reason they promissory notes is because they promise to be worth rough. Well used to be equal to one dollar worth of gold or $10 worth of gold, but that was before we were taken off of the gold standard. Now they’re just worth a dollar of air essentially.
This apparently comes from different sovereign citizens trying to do assorted scams and getting out of debt that they legally owe so don’t be like these knucklehead pay your bills the only way you can get Rich quick is by working extra hard and changing your mindset about how you look at money. Too good to be true means it is too good to be true.
